Guian-made smart electric car debuts in Beijing
Two smart electric cars made by Guian-based Sitech Electric Automobile Co were launched at the Beijing Auto Show on April 22, garnering much attention at the international event.
The first smart electric car self-developed by Sitech, the DEV1 is priced at no more than 100,000 yuan ($15,888). It applies the company's self-developed D-OS system, which extends the car's battery life to as far as 350 km. Thirty minutes of fast charging can enable drives of 200 kilometers.
The DEV1 is also very helpful in saving cost as it can be run for only five yuan per km, approximately 1/10th of the cost of an oil-driven car with the same performance.
The company will ship the level A0 of DEV1 by the end of this year, level A00 in 2019 and level A in 2020. During the launch event, an online presell for DEV1 was open and the first 2,000 cars will come with a limited edition logo.
An agreement for 30,000 DEV1 cars was signed between Sitech and other dealers. It is expected that DEV1 will also be launched at the Chengdu Auto Show in September and delivered after the end of this year.
Another model debuted in Beijing is the sharing car that Sitech specially developed for Mobike, a sharing bike giant in China.
